Grizzly Mama, The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre, 172 Exchange St, Pawtucket. Described as a “pitch-black comedy about motherhood, feminism and the shallowness of sound-bite politics, eliciting shocks and laughs in equal measure,” this play follows Deb, a divorced mom who lives with her texting teenager next door to an Alaskan presidential candidate who changes everything. gammtheatre.org. Based on the classic 1946 film about a businessman who realizes his importance in life after an angel shows him what life would have been like if he had never existed. This WInter’s War, Burbage Theatre Company, 276 Westminster St, PVD. A series of two plays, one by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, and the other by Shakespeare. The first, Happy Birthday, Wanda June is a “simple-minded play about men who enjoy killing and those who don’t,” a satire about post-war America. The second, titled Titus Andronicus, follows the chain of events when a war hero refuses to take the throne after returning home from battle. burbagetheatre.org.
